I would like for those who plan to continue studying French to use any resources you may find to practice. Anyone who will be in honors or IB next year will have summer assignments to complete as well. Those assignments were emailed out recently and will be added to my website soon. I also wanted to add the Q3 grade improvement opportunity for those who are interested. Keep in mind that there is a grade cap, so standard students cannot get above 100 average, honors cannot get above 103, and IB students cannot get above 105. I am adding some new vocab from Chapitre 6.2 with audio files for extra practice.

The first one was Le Petit Prince. We will discuss this book, take a test, and present on it at the beginning of the school year next year. The second book will be Oscar et la dame rose by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt. I would encourage anyone to read the second book over the course of the summer as time permits. I would like to start meeting with HL students after school or during intervention weekly to discuss the second book after fall break. |
Details
Students in IB French I will continue learning vocabulary and more advanced grammar that will allow them to communicate at a more advanced level. We focus on speaking, writing, and reading, and listening comprehension. They will continue learning about France and francophone cultures. This course is for students who are in the IB program and coursework will be aimed to prepare them for the IB exam at the end of their senior year. IB students will use the 5 IB themes (identities, experiences, human ingenuity, social organization, and sharing the planet) as they speak, write, and interpret readings in the course.
The concepts in this course are much more advanced that previous years. Students are expected to continue preparing at home by studying regularly to keep up with the pace of the class and turn in all assignments on time. Archives
