At this time we don't know how the rest of the school year will go and there are no assignments due at this time. Some have reached out to me asking for something to work on so they don't fall behind, so I decided to update my website with material we would be working on if life were back to normal. The last thing we learned was Chapitre 6 vocabulary on the press, the subjunctive with doubt, disbelief, and uncertainty, and irregular verbs croire and paraître. We were scheduled to learn the words quelque part, quelqu'un, quelque chose, and quelquefois. I will include as many resources as possible to help you review these topics and some new ones.
Here are some good resources to use just to keep up your language skills. These are not specific to any topic in particular. It's just good practice. I'll add to this list as I find new resources. https://www.duolingo.com/ http://www.tv5monde.com/ Helpful YouTube videos: Subjunctive video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5HtcEUrVGk Croire : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JiZNWU929M Paraître: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zezcYwwBWbE Verbs with à and de : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxlsIfvf3LE Idioms with avoir: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfM6WOHfzks Idioms with être: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQa1pu3DQNM Idioms with faire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvJ3QiwBBio Idioms with mettre: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIdPfan_Yj4 Idioms with prendre: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm2S2YlSHFM Quelque part, quelqu’un, quelque chose, and quelquefois : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipd5CjsqSvU This week we will learn vocabulary related to the press from Chapitre 6.1. Students in IB French I will continue learning vocabulary and more advanced grammar that will allow them to communicate at a more advanced level. We focus on speaking, writing, and reading, and listening comprehension. They will continue learning about France and francophone cultures. This course is for students who are in the IB program and coursework will be aimed to prepare them for the IB exam at the end of their senior year. IB students will use the 5 IB themes (identities, experiences, human ingenuity, social organization, and sharing the planet) as they speak, write, and interpret readings in the course.
The concepts in this course are much more advanced that previous years. Students are expected to continue preparing at home by studying regularly to keep up with the pace of the class and turn in all assignments on time. Archives
