At this time we don't know how the rest of the school year will go and there are no assignments due at this time. Some have reached out to me asking for something to work on so they don't fall behind, so I decided to update my website with material we would be working on if life were back to normal. We went over café foods and the irregular verb prendre from Chapitre 6, but we didn't spend much time on the imperative and haven't learned the irregular verb boire (to drink). I've kept those videos on this page for you to review. New material comes from Chapitre 7 which starts with vocab related to shopping for clothes and grammar topics such as demonstrative adjectives (this, that, these, those) and interrogative adjectives (what or which) as well as the irregular verb mettre (to put).
Here are some good resources to use just to keep up your language skills. These are not specific to any topic in particular. It's just good practice. I'll add to this list as I find new resources. https://www.duolingo.com/ http://www.tv5monde.com/ Chapitre 7 Notes: 7.1 Vocab - Shopping for clothes - french_i_vocab_7.1.pptx Helpful YouTube Videos: Chapitre 6 Breakfast food & partitive articles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GulM4ZwQggA Prendre: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhHcYofEqxI Boire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fg7GXkrcAmY Imperative: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw7othLUDEM Imperative: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pR9vLBCcjI Chapitre 7 Clothes (part 1): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRJ0tCmOVfA Clothes (part 2): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8QuF8aWcyE Clothes (part 3): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMZ73km173s Demonstrative Adjectives: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4q_s_8MWHfY Demonstrative Adjectives: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMXW9JMRMyE Interrogative Adjectives: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dozFkBHeRyY Interrogative Adjectives : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0OPf046mzg Mettre (present, past, and future - You only need to know the present at this time): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wwnPdAO6V0 This week we will learn how to talk about lunch and dinner (café foods). Students in French I honors will learn basic vocabulary and grammar that will allow them to communicate at a basic level. We focus on speaking, writing, and reading comprehension. They will also learn about France and other francophone cultures. We will move faster than students in French I standard and will start by covering the same material. By the end of the year French I honors will cover more material due to the faster pace of the course. French I honors students are preparing for French II honors and possibly even higher levels of French as they continue throughout high school. Students who are enrolled in other honors courses, especially honors English, are encouraged to take honors French.
As we continue to build on the knowledge they gain, I ask that students spend a minimum of 10 minutes every day reviewing vocabulary and the lessons that are covered in class. Archives
